Seven Magic Mountains

Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains is a large-scale art installation located near Jean Dry Lake and Interstate 15, approximately ten miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada. There are seven towers of colorful, stacked boulders standing more than thirty feet high.

The exhibition opened May 11, 2016, and was originally scheduled to be on view for two years. Due to the incredible success, artist Ugo Rondinone has expressed a strong desire to keep the artwork on view at its current site. At the end of 2018, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued a three-year permit extension for the artwork, allowing the installation to remain on view through the end of 2021.

We don’t know the future! So go visit this amazing creation now.

You will be standing in the hot-dry desert which looks almost lifeless, then you will see bright and colorful mountains standing in the middle of nowhere, doesn’t feel real right? May be thats why it’s called Magic Mountains, not one but seven WOW!

Look at this desert sun and people (including me) trying to find shade. Trust me I couldn’t open my eyes in a single picture, but that’s my everyday problem. LOL

Collect some rocks, paint it with your favorite colors and stack them up. Doesn’t it seem simple but not every mind has the power of imagination, just look at this creation! I am trying to say is – don’t encourage your kids just to be doctors or engineers, encourage and inspire them to be Artists too. Our life is dull without art and this world is boring without artists. We need them!

This is desert heat, you can’t beat it but can be ready with sunscreen.
Enjoy your trip to mountains!
